Tucson Climate Zone & Energy Code
Climate Zone: IECC Climate Zone 2B (hot-dry). Tucson is at 2,400 feet elevation — cooler than Phoenix but still extremely hot in summer (104°F cooling design, 29°F heating design). Monsoon season temporarily increases latent loads.
Energy Code & Manual J Requirement: City of Tucson and Pima County enforce the locally-adopted IECC 2018 with amendments. ACCA Manual J required for all residential HVAC permit applications.
