Climate Zone: IECC Climate Zone 4A (mixed-humid). Fayetteville's Ozark Plateau elevation produces colder winters than the Arkansas River valley — 13°F heating design — with meaningful ice storm risk. Summers are hot but less humid than central Arkansas.

Energy Code & Manual J Requirement: Arkansas residential energy code (IECC 2009 with AR amendments). ACCA Manual J required for HVAC permit applications. Washington County and Benton County enforce state code requirements. Some NWA municipalities may have additional local requirements.
