Climate Zone: CEC Climate Zone 14 (Antelope Valley / LA County high desert). IECC Climate Zone 3B (hot-dry with cold winters due to elevation). Lancaster at 2,360' elevation has extreme dual demands: 103°F cooling design and 22°F heating design — both substantial loads requiring careful HVAC sizing.

Energy Code & Manual J Requirement: California Title 24 Part 6 (2025 edition, effective January 1, 2026). ACCA Manual J required for residential HVAC sizing. All Lancaster and LA County jurisdictions enforce Title 24. High desert CEC climate zone inputs differ significantly from lower-elevation LA communities.
