Climate Zone: CEC Climate Zone 6 (coastal south LA County / South Bay). IECC Climate Zone 3B. Torrance's coastal position provides marine moderation — 84°F cooling design and 40°F heating design — significantly milder than inland LA communities. Marine layer and onshore breeze dominate the climate.

Energy Code & Manual J Requirement: California Title 24 Part 6 (2025 edition, effective January 1, 2026). ACCA Manual J required for residential HVAC sizing. All Torrance and LA County jurisdictions enforce Title 24.
