Climate Zone: IECC Climate Zone 3A (mixed-humid). DFW has hot summers (100°F cooling design) and genuine winters (22°F heating design). The February 2021 freeze demonstrated how critical proper heating system sizing is in North Texas.

Energy Code & Manual J Requirement: Texas Residential Energy Code (IECC 2015). ACCA Manual J required for all DFW metro county HVAC permit applications.
