Climate Zone: IECC Climate Zone 2A (hot-humid). Fort Worth's position on the DFW metroplex's western edge produces hot Texas summers (100°F/74°F cooling design) and cold winters with occasional ice storms (20°F heating design). Both heating and cooling are significant.

Energy Code & Manual J Requirement: Texas Energy Code (IECC 2015, Texas modified). ACCA Manual J required for residential HVAC permits in Tarrant County and all Fort Worth area jurisdictions.
